Resurrection!
Okay, it's been almost a year since I posted anything to this blog. I let ravelry take over as my default knitting and crotcheting show case. No more! I do solemnly swear to keep up my yarn goods blog!

Grocery tote
I've been steadily working away on my afghans for the girls. To alleviate the tedium, I alternate working on those with other, smaller projects. I've been working on a Big Bad Baby Blanket using some Cascade 220 Superwash. I really needed some instant gratification yesterday. I scrounged through my ravelry queue and my yarn stash and whipped up this grocery tote in about 90 minutes.
The pattern is available free on here. I modified the bag by using triple crochet stitches around the middle rather than dc so that the bag would have more give.

My Woodstock Sweater - finished!

Yay! It took a month but I finally finished my Woodstock Sweater. This is a Norah Gaughan pattern in Berroco Pure Pima cotton. It is a very simple pattern. I modified it a bit. I knit it in the round instead of straight because I can do that much faster. I took 2" off of the lenght of the body because I am that short-waisted. I leanred how to do a tubular cast on for this project and I really love how it turned out.. It is a small detail that gives the edge a very professional look.
I am going to be avoiding sweaters for awhile. I have to finish up the afghans for the girls' graduation gifts. I bought $200 of sale yarn at Webs and will using that to work on a couple of baby blankets, some cowls, some UM and LSU hats ...

Best knit increases
I absolutely love these types of lifted increases. They make a super nice, neat increase with no holes.

Cheesy blanket

I need to replenish my stock of ready-to-gift baby items. I chose this easy baby blanket pattern to knit. The yarn is another one I got on sale at Webs - Bollicine Revolution. It is a super bulky yarn, mostly wool with a little nylon. The color I chose is a bright yellow. When I started knitting a swatch, I suddenly had a craving for Cheetos. I realized that is what the yarn looks like, baked Cheetos.
